Since the late 1990s we have had the privilege of being involved in a number of European projects. It started with Artisan - a project which was specifically about working with young people through the arts. Artisan had partners in about 5 countries and the Welsh partner organisation was the W.J.E.C. We were one of a number of youth arts projects in Wales to be included.
This led to a new European Youth Arts project being established by Bo Otterstroem from Denmark. The two branches of this project are Drums for Peace which focuses on youth arts exchanges and Arttrain which is about training youth workers. Theatr Fforwm Cymru is delighted to be a partner in this network.
Further European work
We have undertaken further forum theatre training courses for Arttrain in Estonia, Lithuania, Leeds and West Wales. This training continues as new countries come into the Drums for Peace network.
2005/6 also saw us delivering training in Ukraine for the British Council.
(see entry for further details).
As well as the training we have also participated in and hosted a number of youth exchanges through the Drums for Peace network. See Youth Agora ’06 for more details. |
