 Theatr Fforwm Cymru has built up a formidable reputation for conference work throughout Wales and beyond. The following are representative examples of the work we can do at your conference or gathering:
- In September 2003 we worked at a Leaving Care conference in Ceredigion - we worked beforehand with a number of young people who had recently left care, and from their stories created a piece of theatre which powerfully challenged the invited audience, and gave fresh impetus to debate and policy
- In October 2003 we were invited to a housing association conference in Clwyd, where we worked with tenants and our own volunteers to present the tenants' stories.
- At the recent youth work conference in Pembrokeshire, we worked with young people and youth workers to present still images of barriers to participation, which provoked a healthy debate and discussion about the barriers present for both youth workers and young people.
- A housing association in Newport, Gwent, asked us along to talk about what we do. In the hour allocated, we managed to get everyone on their feet, talking to one another and playing games, and we used simple images to kick-start discussion about conflict and resolution
- In the summer, we facilitated a major two-day conference, using open space conferencing to enable participants to 'set their own agenda', and using theatre to start off the conference, and report on progress and ideas generated throughout the two days
We can be commissioned for specific 'slots' at conferences, through to organising and facilitating your entire event. We can also, if required, provide a complete conference organisation package, from venue hire and hospitality to handling booking and invoicing. |
